Many of the nurses are Certified Legal Nurse Consultants. They are available for assistance in case preparation, research and review. ALL nurses are available for case review and Expert Witness retention, and range in educational backgrounds from ADN to post-doctoral degrees as well as multiple certifications in the various specialties. The nursing clinical experiences range from community hospitals, clinics and physician offices up to well-known teaching institutions and hospitals.
In 2004, Illinois law stated explicitly that a physician was not qualified to testify as to the standard of care for the nursing profession under the laws of the state of Illinois. Clearly, the need for experts in Nursing continues to grow.
